# Notion

> Authorize Rulebase in Notion, share the pages it should read, and import them into your knowledge base as documents.

Connect Notion to Rulebase to use Notion pages as knowledge base content. Connecting the workspace is only half the job: pages arrive in Rulebase after you run an import from **Knowledge**.

## Prerequisites

* You must be able to authorize integrations in the Notion workspace.
* You must have access to the pages Rulebase should read.
* You must have the Administrator role in Rulebase.

## Installation

### Step 1: connect Notion

1. Log in to your [Rulebase dashboard](https://app.rulebase.co)
2. Go to **Settings** > **Integrations**
3. Find **Notion** in the list and click **Add**
4. Select the Notion workspace
5. Grant Rulebase access to the pages it should read

Notion access is page by page. Rulebase can only see pages you explicitly share with the integration, and sharing a parent page shares the pages nested inside it.

### Step 2: import into Knowledge

1. Go to **Knowledge**
2. Click **Manage** to open **Manage knowledge base**
3. Open **Import** > **Notion**
4. Select the connected Notion account and click **Import**

The **Notion** option only appears once a Notion connection exists.

## What lands in your knowledge base

Each Notion page becomes one knowledge base document, with the page title, its content, and a link back to the original page. Documents can then be cited in evaluations and used in training and coaching workflows.

## Refresh behavior

* Notion sources refresh once a day on the knowledge base sync schedule
* A page is only reprocessed when it was edited since its last sync, so refreshes are cheap and do not create duplicates
* Pages that are deleted, or that stop being shared with the Rulebase integration, are removed from the knowledge base on the next sync

If a page you expected is missing after an import, the usual cause is sharing: open the page in Notion, check the connection is listed under its access settings, then run the import again.
