Prerequisites
- You must be allowed to install apps in your Slack workspace.
- You must have the Administrator role in Rulebase.
Installation
Step 1: connect Slack
- Log in to your Rulebase dashboard
- Go to Settings > Integrations
- Find Slack in the list and click Add
- Choose the Slack workspace in the popup
- Review the requested permissions and click Allow
Step 2: choose where alerts post
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Real-time complaints alerts, pick the channel complaint alerts should go to
When a message does not arrive
- Invite the Rulebase app to the channel. Rulebase can only post where the app is a member. In Slack, open the channel and use
/invite @Rulebase. This is the most common cause of a rule that looks configured but stays quiet. - Check the channel is in the list. The picker is built from the public channels Rulebase can see in your workspace, refreshed daily, so a channel created minutes ago or a private channel may not appear yet.
- If the picker is completely empty, the channel list has never synced for your workspace. Reinstall Slack from Settings > Integrations and, if it stays empty, contact Rulebase support; this is a known issue we are tracking.
- Confirm a complaint was detected. The complaints alert posts only when Rulebase classifies a conversation as a complaint, so a quiet period produces no messages at all.
- Check the connection itself. Manage integrations covers reading connection state and reconnecting.
